This holiday seasonal started in a home-brew kettle, on a back patio belonging to our Brewmaster where he crafted this recipe initially as a gift for friends and family, having since adapted it to Stone City’s brewhouse it has become a favourite across the province!
The idea behind this brew was to craft a unique seasonal offering that wasn’t your typical holiday beer (a.k.a. cloyingly sweet spice bomb).
By taking a classic witbier recipe, ramping up the malt bill for a higher ABV (i.e more festive) and fuller body, then balanced it out with aromatic spruce needles and tart, refreshing cranberries. This beer will cellar well so enjoy it now and maybe stash a few away for a snowy day!
